IN THE NAME OF ALLAH THE MOST GRACIOUS, THE MOST MERCIFUL
Praise be to Allah the Creator of the worlds. Blessing and peace be upon our prophet Muhammed, his family, his companions and those who follow his guidance until the Day of Judgment.
It was a privilege and honour for me to be elected as president of Ghana Society for Islamic Education and Reformation (GSIER) a charitable society whose primary interests are in educating our Ghanaian youth in general and Muslims in particular to acquire skills that will enable them to be good citizens, to understand, to think, to innovate, to be well cultured and to stand as role models in serving our country and humanity.
The Society has chalked a lot of successes, maintained and promoted excellence throughout the years from its humble beginning in the early eighties of the last century, with only one primary school with about one hundred pupils in Madina Islamic School (MIS). Today GSIER overseas five institutions established in many parts of Accra and its environs with more than 1,500 students, and a university in the making.
This certainly has taken a lot of hard work, dedication, steadfastness and above all patience. We have cleared many hurdles and crossed many rivers, but still more great challenges are ahead of us, such as completing the fourth block of The Ghana-Lebanon Islamic Senior School (GLISS), Al-Rayaan International School (ARIS) Complex, rehabilitating Madina Islamic School (MIS) and lastly our tremendous contribution to establish MADINA ISLAMIC UNIVERSITY FOR SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (MIUST) for which I hope and pray that with Allah’s Grace, they will be completed during my tenure in office by the end of the year 2014.
It is our ardent prayers that most of our graduates from our various schools will be able to enroll in the best universities and polytechnics and come out with distinctions in order to disseminate the message of Islam, its teachings and its peaceful nature.
The GSIER has overcome many hurdles and challenges over the years to attain where it is now and continues to push the bar upwards in setting new goals for itself. It is my sincere belief that with Allah’s guidance, our unity, determination and support from our colleagues and sympathizers that GSIER will continue to work hard to achieve them.
I urge all visitors to explore our website and visit the various projects we have. Our mailing address for comments, contributions and donations are available on the net.
May Allah protect, guide and accept our deeds.
